1. ?????????????????????????????????????????
2. I look forward to subbing this so that some things make sense, I didn't really catch the part about what Tokai was using his money for at the end.
3. So the black pean is made of special non-Xrayable material to prevent future medical tests from seeing it? Why don't you just write what actually happened in his medical records?! I don't really understand why Ichiro didn't just tell everyone what happened right from the start.
4. Everyone telling Miwa to leave so she doesn't get in trouble ;_____; my eyes are leaking
5. Kurosaki doing great faces as usual, plus his wordless yell of victory was very enjoyable
6. WHY DIDN'T SAEKI JUST TELL HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE THOUGH like, when Tokai first joined the department? Surely he knew this would happen :/ I think he said he wanted Tokai to hate him so that it would improve his skills even more, but come on now. No.
7. Kinoshita and Takashina and everyone working together to get in the head nurse's way for as long as possible, lol great. Team Tokai ♥
8. Nino is so attractive just saying
9. I could not have cared any less about the resuls of the chair selection sorry
10. Poor Sera ;_; hopefully he becomes a good doctor and doesn't starve to death from lack of rice (japanese bodies are made of rice you know)
11. POOR NEKO ;_______________; he left her behind why
12. Tokai's bedroom full of knots! I loved it. So hardworking ♥
13. I'm mad but I loved it, good work everyone

Nooooo...don't tell me Saeki's antagonistic behavior is actually a mask to help Tokai? That's such a cliche Japanese dorama plot ๐Ÿ˜…

1. I already had a feeling that kind of plot twist would happen since it is common twist in dorama but still got annoyed when it was happened lol.
2. His money was to set up for a foundation for patients with malpractices i think. So cute reading Sasaki Mitsuru and SANMO appeared on Neko chan's phone list :D
3. Yes why these two wait three with the nurse just keep their mouth sealed. if Tokai knew from his dad earlier or Saeki this event can be prevented huhuhuhu. Communications is a key.
4. Everyone wanna protect Miwa but she insisted too :((
5. Kurosaki is so funny haha.
6. Yes Saeki's reason is weird not convincing. What a manipulative guy.
7. I m so soft when Tokai pleaded Takashina to believe in him :((
8. There is Nino in suit too this ep :D
9. and Nishizaki is still creeped me out there
10. Sera wanna eat rice with Tokai :(
11. maybe Neko chan wanna make sure Sera be a good doctor like Tokai said D:
12. He is discreetly a hardworking guy. His revenge motivation got him far.
13. Otsukare team.

I m so touched Opevengers hung out in Tokai's bed and using his rice cooker lol. and Kinoshita saying Jama to the head nurse is so satisfying lol.

Can we get another season of Tokai sensei haha. Dont care with the novel stories now lol.

2. I'm glad twitter fandom is there to point these things out to me, haha.
3/6. Even if he tries to justify it by saying it was to make Tokai a better surgeon, I can't accept them all keeping it from him for so long. It's his family! And he literally wanted to destroy Saeki! It's too far ;_;
4. She was great in that scene.
10. He still didn't get to, even though Miwa and Kinoshita did! How sad.
11. Oh, I like that idea.
12. Yes, same with his notes on the manuals and things in earlier episodes. He acts like he only sleeps but he works hard too.

I would definitely love another season :D

1) It's such a convenient convenient cop-out for Saeki to be playing a villain but actually be all "noble" and whatnot. It still does not excuse his behaviour vis-a-vis the politicking etc. And I'm not buying the whole act of him being a lovely hands-on prof instructing residents on the how-tos etc. A person who plays politics for the sake of getting to the top is never all that decent behaviour-wise for no reason. I learnt that the hard way when I was still in academia.
2) Tokai using the money for something at last! But I still think he stashed some away somewhere as a backup for some unknown contingency. That, in my opinion, seems to fit better with his M.O.
3) I was rolling at my eyes at the special black pean revelation. Tokai Senior could have told his son everything at least, if not in person in some kind of deathbed confession, it ought to be in "if you read this, i'm dead. there's something you should know" letter.
4) It was expected that everyone told Miwa to get lost lest she get into trouble. She's such a gentle little thing. Perhaps under her "I'm a nurse and will stick to my guns" re-entry to join everyone else had an undercurrent of "at least i won't be in trouble alone."
5) Kurosaki is our token clown in this series. I haven't been able to take him seriously since we first saw him.
6) Saeki and Tokai Senior should have made things clear to Tokai in the first place. But this is drama and people need to plot and scheme because they have such foresight and can the big picture. Even his claim to be an arse to help Tokai hone his skills further doesn't excuse being a prat, an arse and someone who plays politics for the sake of getting himself ahead regardless of whom he drives over.
7) Everyone getting in Head Nurse's way was something I liked, mostly because there's something about her that I don't like. I can't put my finger on why, but that's the way it is for me.
8) I waited for Nino smirks because I'm smirker myself. I like the smirks.
9) Dreadfully disappointed there was no third person from unknown uni hospital as the Chair.
10) Sera annoyed me with his running and "tugging at apron strings" behaviour. But they may have written his character that way.
11) In my head, Tokai left for now to sort himself out, but he'll send for Neko at some point. I like to imagine that she's the daughter of an egg purveyor and that's how Tokai gets his quality eggs for his rice. And he'll need quality eggs with his rice wherever he goes. That's what I like to think.
12) As someone who has a boudoir full of books and papers with scrawlings and drafts, I approve of Tokai's room.
13) I liked the series, I liked the actors, I like Nino, but the convenient cop-outs that seem rather popular with Japanese dramas only make my eyes rolls.
14) I still wanted to kick Nishizaki in the balls and punch Saeki at the end.

(no subject)

1) I agree, he's been so calculating all along that I don't buy his new altruistic teacher thing. Maybe he still has higher aims. When he said he thought a doctor should be humble, I couldn't help laughing.
2) I didn't see that use coming. It's nice though?
4) And she has already seen that Kinoshita's life is going okay even after she was kicked out of nursing, so perhaps that made it easier to come back in.
5) The way he yells at the election result is so hilarious to me!
6) Definitely. Well, there needs to be a plot, but they messed him up for life! Surely once it became clear Tokai was actually aiming for major revenge, Saeki should have put a stop to it. I just don't understand why he felt it was almost worth his life.
9) Same! Of course Nishizaki is terrible, but all of Saeki's impact factor comes from papers about one tiny aspect of heart surgery. Since this society is for all kinds of surgeons, surely someone with a broader range of experience would make a better chair?
11) An egg purveyor, I love that idea :D
13) jdramas gonna jdrama I guess. I hope you still enjoyed it overall :)
14) Right! When will Nishizaki's teeth fall out from too many sweets? Is it too much to ask? Haha.

yes, I am very enjoy your sub. thanks, as always.

for my comment about the last episode. somehow I like this episode, eventhough it is cliche.

i still don't get why Saeki want to be the chairman (eh, I forgot the title). Because in the end, he step down and let some unknown people fill that position. So, why Nishizaki still working on impact factor.

6. yes, why is that... it created this unnecessary misunderstanding. but, without that, we can't get nino with all of that smirk on his face, hehehe

12. I think Tokai is genius. but he is also hardworking, and don't show off. I love it.

Lastly, I still don't understand Saeki and his action.

What a finale. I'm glad it had a happy ending

2. I believe Tokai donated all the money he obtained to a support organisation for victims of medical malpractice? If so, that was a very nice way to use that money
3. I agree 100% with you! Why didn't Saeki say something about the pean in Iinuma's body being medical treatment, not a mistake, before he left for Africa? And why didn't Ichiro show the professor the telegram he received from Saeki?
4. I didn't expect Miwa to return after she got told to leave, so her return was a really nice surprise! I loved that she was determined to help her patient
5. Kurosaki's faces have been so amusing throughout the series. I wonder if the actor is like that in his other works
6. Absolutely! Or Ichiro should've written a letter to Tokai explaining what happened. Surely he should've properly explained his leaving Tojo to his family. I wonder if Harue's opinion of Saeki will change when she learns the truth
7. A tiny part of me is bitter that Sera didn't help Tokai operate on Iinuma, even though what Tokai was doing was wrong. I loved seeing Tokai "teach" Sera in the previous episodes
12. For some reason I thought Tokai was just naturally gifted as a surgeon and that he didn't do as much practice as Sera, considering his response to seeing Sera practising knots. I'm glad they showed Tokai's hard work

Guess it's time to read the books! Gotta fill that Tokai void

Edit: I just remembered the scene at the end, where Kinoshita says an anonymous donor contributed 10 million yen. Does that mean Tokai is still out there, getting money for fixing other surgeons' mistakes?

Not happy for Sera though! Maybe he'll run into him at his next job though.

3. Right? And there were other people who knew too. Even if they didn't care about Ichiro's reputation, wouldn't someone have wanted to tell Tokai the truth once he started actively trying to destroy Saeki?
4. I was surprised too - what a great scene. I remember in the first few episodes I was complaining that she never did anything, so I'm glad she had more to do by the end :)
6. That's true. I'm sure Harue didn't know what really happened.
12. Yes, I thought so too. I'm glad he wasn't just magically a genius who never practiced.

I'm going to try reading the first book too, at least. :)

About the anonymous donor, I think that is what they were implying, yes.

8.Yup Nino is very attractive and great in this role. Couldn't have enjoyed the series this much if another actor played Tokai sensei's role.

It's sad that Dr. Tokai left both Sera and Neko.

13. Me too, a bit mad about this bitter-sweet ending. It's good if Tokai stayed at the hospital, and for some reason I felt sorry for him. Anyway, it's a satisfying ending.

I am a bit curious to know where exactly Tokai sensei went(Which hospital).

If we can get a season 2, I will be really happy.

2. Hmmm so he's supporting a group for victims of medical malpractice. It seems that Nekota and Coordinator-san are one of the main managers of that group. Since Nekota is the one who's monitoring the bank account statement; and then Tokai had Coordinator-san to cooperate with him while emphasizing the "malpractice" issue of Saeki.

3. If only they communicated well, then things wouldn't have ended up that bad. If the black pean is something that wouldn't be found out through x-ray and other diagnostic tests, why didn't he just use it before. That would have saved their butts XD But oh well.. there won't be a good plot if they did that LOL

8. Nino is really attractive and oozing hot in this drama fufu Can't get enough of him. Makes me wish he'll have another drama series soon. XD

12. He is a very hardworking doctor. Aside from being a genius, he's exerting effort to achieve his great skills. ^__^ Kinda reminds me of Sera's sentiment when he let Tokai stay at their dorm. Sera had the impression that Tokai is an inborn genius in the OR. XD well, he is but he did a lot to get there. He practiced a lot on his own (just like Oh-chan fufuf *runs away*) :3 That makes Tokai a human. XD

13. OTSUKARESAMADESHITA!!!!~ Thank you so much for subbing and sharing your subs. *kanpai~* XO

Ahhh I'll definitely miss this drama. It would be great if there'll be a second season but it looks like there won't be. TT___TT

I agree with you on why Saeki keep it as a secret. It's easier to just telling the truth to Tokai from the beginning.

Nino is truly attractive in this drama. I just love the way he portray this character.

Did the writers make a mistake in a previous episode?
I remember that during that flashback scene when everyone was criticizing Tokai's dad for malpractice, Saeki and the nurse were also in the room looking guilty/scared (nurse was standing, Saeki was sitting). Why was Saeki there when he was supposed to be in some other country?
Anyone else notice/remember that? (starting to doubt my memory...)

just want to ask your opinion about tokai's last sentences with saeki,
who do you think tokai referred "a doctor that I truly respect" to?
at first I thought he was referring it to his father, but the words were from saeki which were told by sera.
well, it was written in his father letter, but after that he bowed to saeki and saeki cried. so I kinda curious to whom tokai referred to...

(no subject)

Date: 2018-06-27 05:12 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sarahjohnsf89.livejournal.com
Think it was his father because his father says that to him in the beginning, Saeki apparently knew him(Tokai senior) well enough to repeat them,Tokai forgave him i guess with that statement.

(no subject)

Date: 2018-06-28 11:34 am (UTC)

I guess Tokai didn't see that letter, but the words from Saeki's message were similar to what Tokai's father said in that one flashback scene, so Tokai may have recognised that. I think he probably meant Saeki, but I also consider it to have a nuance of "you were important to my father, so I'll respect you on his behalf", if that makes sense?

Date: 2018-06-28 12:31 pm (UTC)

yes, it could be like that.
when I re-watch it, saeki asked him why did tokai saved him.
maybe he was using his father words - a doctor that he truly respect - as an answer.

seriously!!!
What a frustrating ending. WHY didnt he just tell the reason he used the pean, and whatever he says he let Tokia senior die with the malpractice over his head, so whatever things he is doing for atonement just doesnt cut it.I get that Tokai couldnt take revenge cause his Dad was the one who decided this, but STILL. Saeki was selfish throughout whatever his reasons, he doesnt deserve Tokias forgiveness.
An poor Neko I cant believe he left her and went.;;. And Sera as well.

I like to think Tokia has moved on to other hospitals to rid them of these useless surgeons. Him giving money to those who are victims of malpractice is so sweet though.

Such a damn good series, though i think it was Nino's acting as Tokia that really made it so brilliant.

I will miss this drama. They're just trying to make Saeki seem like the good guy now but like UH NO SORRY THAT IS NOT HAPPENING WITH ME
Kurosaki make me laugh all the time great faces and the victory cheering was the best.
Someone in tw capture our feelings with a funny video https://twitter.com/yasu_4221/status/1010881763856412673
I felt sad when Neko was left behind I know is for her own good but stil , she was ready to left for Tokai. Poor Neko . Hopefully he'll send for her at some point.
Sera is full of love to Tokai hopefully he can eat rice with him soon.
So happy to see Tokai's room I wish i could see more of that. He was working hard to enter in Tojo the only person who knows is her mom and know Sera.
The plot twist in Black Pean's last episode was really... annoying but it was still a good episode nonetheless! thank you Nino, for giving us 10 weeks of good drama entertainment! The ratings were really good at least a SP or season 2 would be great. Fingers crossed.

Finally got to watch ep10! Thank you very much for translating!!!

1 - To summarize the ep mine would be like this lol !!!!!!????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 - I didnt pay much attention to this but I guess the transl worked out in the end and carried the emotions needed :)

3 & 6 - I TOTALLY AGREE!!! If the pean was that necessary, can't Saeki include it in his report or something, just so he could clear out the matter and not make it this big??! I guess it's not only Ichiro and Kurosaki who've seen it, what about the x-ray tech who did the x-ray??? ARGHH I HAVE SO MUCH FEELS I MIGHT GO AGGRETSUKO ON THIS haha

4 - Awww Miwa! But in the last part she finally got the guts to stand by what she believes. I'm happy Team Tokai was so concerned <3

5 & 9 - The chair selection scenes were too...negligible for me hehe bc the drama was in tojo hosp waaaa

7 - Team Tokai. Ope-ngers. I love how Takashina lied and how Kinoshita really stood up VS head nurse. The only one missing is Sera who is out following the professor's orders UGH guess he couldn't do much about it though

8 - THIS IS SO TRUE. Nino's closeups. His eyes full of emotions. His face. Ahhhhhhh

10 - My waterworks started around the time Sera and Tokai are talking in the hallway. Off cam, they seem to have a genuinely close rship as well. uwu

11 - NEKOOOO! I wonder who'll she follow around now that Tokai's not there anymore T_T

12 - It was amazing! He really worked hard, started from the bottom up to the genius that he is rn.

13 - SAME FEELS huhu I have to look and dl the navi, digest, and other shows they went to to cope up with the sepanx from BP T_______T

Again, thanks so much for subbing this drama! As well as other info from the site! Though I may have not commented on every BP post of yours, they all were helpful and made my last 10 weeks enjoyable and interesting (with all those facts). Not only BP has come to an end, but your work on this too! Have a good rest (from subbing work and irl as well)~ c^^/

I think I watched this around last week but just realized that I forgot to drop by since my family is visiting so I lost track of everything *rolls away* So here it is!

1. Extending your question marks! My reaction when Saeki reveals everything XD

2. Did he actually donated his money to Nekota? Or is he just letting her know on who he donated the money to?

3. I think it's mostly on Saeki tho. Like, I don't think Ichiro-sensei can speak for someone that's not his patient. Saeki didn't even tell him what the pean was for, he just told him to not remove it. So I guess both party are at fault here (AND ALSO KUROSAKI! WITHOUT HIM EVERYTHING WOULD PASS LIKE THE WIND LOL)

4. Ikr ;;n;;

6. That's honestly a bad provocation to improve. Proven to be 'fruitful' in Tokai-sensei's case but honestly that should never be done.

9. EXACTLY LOL I forgot about it halfaway XDD

10. Tokai-sensei should text him sometimes, order him to clean his... I mean "Tokai-sensei's room" once in a while.

11. But she looked happy receiving message(?) on Tokai-sensei's transaction, so I guess... it's safe to assume that Neko saw this coming? Idk tho, I'm happy that she's happy!

12. YES! THAT'S AMAZING!

13. Good work to all the staffs! It's a great drama and Nino's acting is A+++!

+. Trivial, but I LOVE how the staffs zoomed on Tokai-sensei wearing his sandal XDD

Thank you so much for subbing the whole drama! I really enjoyed it and it wouldn't have been possible without your subs! Thank you!!!
